**Obituary for Carol Anne Bourland**

Carol Anne Bourland, aged 69, of Sellersburg, Indiana, peacefully passed away on the evening of June 7, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana surrounded by her family and friends.

Born on September 18, 1955, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Carol was the beloved daughter of Ervin and Margaret Prather Braun. Throughout her life, she served her community as a former Pharmacy Technician for Taylor Drugs and Rite-Aid. Carol was actively involved in charitable efforts, notably as a Relay for Life Coordinator, and held a special place within the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her loving brothers, Allen Braun (Sheila) and Carl Braun (Cathy), both of Charlestown; her step-son, Nathan Bourland (Kadi) of Charlestown; as well as her cherished grandchildren, River Kate Bourland and Marli Bourland. Carol's family also includes her nephews, Joshua Braun (Julianne) of Floyd Knobs and Christopher Braun of Jeffersonville, and her niece, Chelsea Ison (Richard) of New Washington. She was a proud great-aunt to Lynlee and Kage Braun. In addition, Carol leaves behind special friends Noel Broughton of Charlestown and Elizabeth Pettit of Marysville, who will remember her fondly.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William, who died on Nov. 21, 2015.

Life Celebration Services in honor of Carol will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow at Silver Creek Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, and after 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church located at 8211 Stacy Road, Charlestown, IN 47111.

Carol Anne Bourland’s spirit and warmth will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
