Carl H. Woods, born on January 1, 1936, in Belmont, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at home in Otisco, Indiana, on February 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Carl, known for his warm heart and adventurous spirit, led a fulfilling life that spanned nearly nine decades.

A long-time employee at Brockway Plastics in Jeffersonville, Carl dedicated many years to his career, earning the respect and affection of his colleagues. His industrious nature was matched only by his love for travel. Following his passion, he explored various picturesque destinations, particularly enjoying the islands of the Bahamas and Jamaica. Whether fishing in serene waters or camping amidst nature, Carl cherished the experiences he shared with family and friends during these adventures.

In addition to his love for travel, Carl had a deep affinity for animals, with a particular fondness for dogs, who were often his loyal companions. Distinguished by his zest for life, he pursued a diverse array of hobbies, including wide variety farming and gambling, where he found joy at the boat, especially enjoying the $5 Wheel of Fortune.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Peggy Woods; his sons, Tony Woods and James Woods; his cherished granddaughters, Baily and Mariah Woods and his grandson, Eddie Duran. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Connie and Bill Schroeder, and their children, Tracy and Bill (Linda), as well as his niece and her husband, Dyana Howlett Hall and Sean, his nephew, Jacky Howlett, and his niece and her husband, Mechelle Magruder and Chris.

He is preceded in death by his grandson, Nicholas James Woods, and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A private burial will take place at a later date. Carl H. Woods will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose spirit touched the lives of many and whose memories will forever remain in our hearts.
