Carl Hayden Schuster, Jr., 80 of Louisville, KY passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
Carl was born February 13, 1933 in Louisville, KY the son of Carl Hayden and Mary B. Muskroff Schuster Sr. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after 32 years with the U.S. Air Force/ Air National Guard and also retired from American Commercial Barge Lines in Jeffersonville. He was a member of Pearl Street Baptist Church in New Albany, IN, V.F.W. Post 3281 in New Albany, and an avid member of the Downtown Louisville Y.M.C.A.
Survivors include his son, Bud Schuster(Kathy), Jeffersonville, IN; daughter, Teri Kleber(John), Louisville; other children, Jerry Green(Ann), Louisville, Kenny Kern(Sherry), New Washington, IN, Paula Murphy(Gary), Charlestown, Margie Sorg(Bobby), Borden, IN and Karen Meadors, New Washington, IN, sister, Barbara Ray, Louisville; several loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Darlene Schuster on July 13, 2002 and sons, Herbie and Kirbie Chester.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, IN with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday beginning at 12 Noon to 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday after 9:00 A.M.
