Brenda Joyce Haueter, 71 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.
Brenda was born on February 1, 1944 in Jefferson County, KY the daughter of Roy F. and Eva Cottrell Shartzer. She was retired from American Standard in Louisville, Ky working in Personnel and Safety Department. Brenda was an avid member of the Engelbert Humperdink Fan Club, Go Rover Go Club, loved her dogs, Photographer and in the past loved to dance.
Survivors include he daughter, Cheryl Clapp(Tim) of Charlestown; brother, Shelby Shartzer of Louisville; step-daughter, Karen Martin(Donald) of Louisville; step-son, Carroll Haueter Jr.(Susan) of Louisville; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda, Brian, Lisa, Clint, Amy and Andrew; seven great-grandchildren, Adriann, Paityn, Ethan, Jayden, Jordan, Camden and Chase; brother-in-law Elbert “Boots” Beamer of Leitchfield, KY; several nieces and nephews including her best friend and niece Linda Sue Shartzer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carroll “Hoot” Haueter Sr. in 2002; sister Frances “Doodie” Beamer; brother, Roy Shartzer, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery in New Washington, IN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. until time of services on Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Brenda may take the form of donations to Down Syndrome of Louisville, KY.
