Bobby Ray Ison

Bobby Ray Ison, 88, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.

He was born on May 18, 1933, in Roxana, KY to Chester and Julia Whitaker Ison.  Bobby was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of Blazing Star Masonic Lodge #226, a retired employee of General Electric in Louisville, KY, and a member of the Chester Hogg Old Regular Baptist Church.  Bobby was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ison, and son, Michael Ison.

He is survived by his sons, Robert A. Ison, (Denise) of Charlestown and Gregory L. Ison (Kristal) of Charlestown; brothers, Quenton Ison of Columbus, IN, and Chester “Doc” Ison of Charlestown; sisters, Doris Ison of Columbus, IN, Mary Sue Kilburn of London, KY, and Barbara Watts of Charlestown; grandchildren, Jacob, Elizabeth, Christopher, Darren and Marlee, and Tanner.

Life Celebration Services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and from 8:30 am to 10:30 am on Saturday.
