Bobby Maurice Davis

Bobby Maurice Davis, 83, went to be with the Lord Saturday September 18, 2021. He died peacefully, at home. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris, sons, Wayne (Kelly) and David (Lisa) his grandson Derek, granddaughters Misty and Brittany and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nettie Bladen Davis and father, Maurice Davis.

Bobby was a faithful member of River Valley Community Church where he and Doris served as greeters for many years. He graduated from New Washington high school and lived in the area all his life. He owned and operated Davis Implement (“The John Deere Store”) in the New Washington area for 55 years. He will be missed by his sisters-in-law Dixie Marsh, Donna Watkins, his brother-in-law John Watkins, his caregiver, Jennifer Friend, and a host of other friends. He was a quiet, gentle man with little to say and a lot of love in his heart. He loved the Lord and his family and enjoyed many things on earth. One of the joys in his life was to travel in their camper, he and Doris had seen all but 6 of the United States. He loved mowing his property, feeding and watching the birds, working on his computer, caring for his animals, playing cards with family and friends, gardening, southern gospel music, game days with his sisters-in-law, he was an excellent cook and he enjoyed swapping stories with his caretaker, Jennifer Friend.

One of the first things he ever told his wife Doris is, “Life is what you make it.” and he did his best to make sure their life was a good one.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Heart Association.

A Life Celebration Service will be held at 11:00, Sept. 27, 2021 at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with visitation from 8:00 A.M. until time of service.

The family has ask that mask be required at the visitation and during the service.
