Billy Wayne Akemon, 67, of Charlestown, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
He was born on May 7, 1946 to Jim and Evelyn (Grills) Akemon in Harlan Co., KY. He was a retired service tech for Sears Company, a laborer in the construction industry, a member of the Local 795 Labors and Hod Carriers, and a member of the Faith World Church in Charlestown, IN.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene (Braswell) Akemon; sons, Scott Akemon (Jennifer) of Rome, GA, Jack Aaron (Teresa) of Marysville, IN, Jeff Aaron (Susan) of Charlestown, IN, and Brian Aaron (Jamie) of Charlestown, IN; brothers, James E. Akemon (Sharon) of Charlestown, IN, and Mike Akemon (Darlene) of Charlestown, IN; sisters, Doris Bower (Ronnie) of Charlestown, IN, and Linda Carlisle (Calvin) of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Catie, Lauren, Josh, John, Jon, Hannah, Donnie, Connor, and Caleb and his favorite beagle Bubba.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 11am to 7pm, and after 9am on Monday.
