Betty Jean Snelling, 70 of Charlestown passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. Catherine Regional Hospital.
Betty was born February 23, 1943 in Red Fox, KY the daughter of Bobbie and Dora Gibson. She retired from Res-Care in Jeffersonville and enjoyed playing euchre and bingo.
Survivors include her daughters, Amy Peebles and Candice Snelling both of Charlestown; son, Tom Snelling Jr. of Charlestown; sisters, Velma Gibson, Otisco, IN, Ollie Miller of Sellersburg and Vernell Mullins of Whitesburg, KY; brother, Virgil Gibson of Otisco, IN; grandchildren, Kayla, SuVanna, Sadie, Sineka, Shay, Sebastion, Siena, Shyanna, Wyatt and Taylor; several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom Snelling Sr., sister Virginia Amburgey and son-in-law, Gary “Bub” Peebles, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday.
