Betty Darlene Layton, 74 of New Washington, IN passed away on Saturday January 23, 2016 at her home.
She was born on March 11, 1941 in Scott County, IN to Goldie Stewart and is a member of the First Baptist Church in New Washington.
She was preceded in death by her mother, son, Jimmy Layton; brother, Larry Gates; and grandson, Josh Dean.
Survivors include her loving husband, William Layton, Sr., sons, William Layton, Jr. and Troy Layton both of New Washington; daughters, Lydia Gilland of Jeffersonville, IN, Maudie Johnson of Greenville, IN, Sarah Smith of Highland, IN, Anna Vetter and Lisa Maples both of New Washington and Alice Dean of Marysville, IN; brothers, Johnny Gates of Georgia, Linnie Gates of Little York, IN, Lester Gates of Edinburg, IN, Danny Gates of Scottsburg, IN; sister, Verna Gates of Scottsburg; 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Thursday January 28, 2016 at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday and after 9 am on Thursday.
