Bernice "Sally" (Hawkins) Shell

Bernice “Sally” Lee Shell, 92 of New Washington, IN passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Sellersburg Health Care Center in Sellersburg, IN.

Sally was born on September 30, 1930, in Baltimore, MD the daughter of Carter Lee and Bernice Lillian Turner Hawkins. She was a retired Blueprint Clerk, formerly worked at the former Conn Organ Company in Madison, In and for the Clark County Engineer. Sally was a member of the New Washington Christian Church, past member of the New Washington Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and an avid Dixie Land Jazz fan.

Sally is survived by her two sons, Jim Bower and his wife Jo Ann of New Washington, IN and Richard Bower and his wife Marilyn of Sunman, IN; grandchildren, Carol Bower, Larry Bower, Michelle Morris(Ryan), Jacob Bower(Amber), Debra Beebe(Carl), Keith Bower(Darby); great-grandchildren, Scott, Rhianna, Rebecca, Emily, Connor, Colton, Christopher, and Shane. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jim Shell, and her son Charles Bower, sisters, Joan Boyer and Ruth Chester.

Life Celebration Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington, IN. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday. Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may take the form of donations to the New Washington Volunteer Fire Department, cards will be available at the funeral home.
