Beatrice Banks Brown, 94 of Marysville, IN passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Wedgewood Nursing Center in Clarksville, IN.
Mrs. Brown was born on September 8, 1919 in Letcher County, KY the daughter of Wesley and Bertha Banks.  Beatrice was an avid gardener and loved crocheting and quilting. She worked at the 5 & 10 store in Whitesburg, KY, John D. Adams General Store in Jeff, KY, M Fines in New Albany, IN and the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, IN.
Survivors include her son, Wendell Brown(Rita) of Marysville, IN; daughter-in-law Judy Brown of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, Melissa Ann Webb(James), Michael Warren Brown(Stephanie) and Jason Aaron Brown(Kelli); great-grandchildren, Joshua Webb, Jordan Webb, Aubrey Brown and Madelyn Brown; brothers, Edgar A. Banks of New Palestine, IN, Carlos Banks of Greenfield, IN and Ray Banks of Richmond, KY; half-sister Imogene Williams of Dayton, OH; step-brother Jack Day of Whitesburg, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willis Brown and son Leonard Virgil Brown; sister, Ruth Crittenden; brothers, Virgil Banks and Roy Banks; half-brothers, Eugene Banks, Douglas Banks, Bennett Banks, Charlie Banks and step-brother, Dee Day.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Saturday until time of the service. Expressions of Sympathy in memory of Beatrice may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
