Arretta Faye (Ashby) Griffin

Arretta Faye Griffin 80 of Charlestown, IN went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday December 13, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.

She was born on January 7, 1943, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky to Pirtle and Jessie Blanchard Ashby.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Charlestown and was a past president and member of Clark County Homemakers Club.  She enjoyed reading and crocheting.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Chancey Van Griffin and daughter, Janie Shain and son in law Bobby Carter.

Survivors include her daughters, Jan Carter (David Duvall) of Charlestown; granddaughter, Farrah Bower (Bob) of Sellersburg, IN; sister, Kelly Baker of Montana; brothers, Larry Ashby of Charlestown and Delbert Ashby of Clarksville, IN; son in law, David Shain of Sellersburg.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday December 18, 2023, at Charlestown Cemetery.
