Anita Olson, 79 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Olson was born on March 27, 1938 in Charlestown, IN the daughter of David Myers and Thelma Louise Reich VanPelt. She formerly worked as a manager for the former Army and Air Force Exchange Service in Jeffersonville and as a waitress for the Powder Keg and Jessi’s Place in Charlestown. Anita was a member of the Charlestown Independent Church and was active in the Joy Club and Women’s Bible Study at the church.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherry G. Wright and her companion Jim Christianson and Marita Stricker and her husband Rick all of Charlestown; sons, Steven C. Frazier and his wife Iryna of New Albany, Gene Frazier and his wife Mindi of Crestwood, KY and Dean Frazier of Charlestown; brothers, Ronald VanPelt of Otisco, IN, Donald VanPelt of Cincinnati, OH and John Sweeney of Lanesville, IN; grandchildren, Erica, Jennifer, Hallie, Kaylin, Kynli, Hayden, Samuel, Matthew, Michael and Artem; eight great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren will be born in the near future. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Lee Olson and a brother, Richard Sweeney.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Charlestown Independent Church with burial in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Charlestown Independent Church and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church. Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown is in charge of arrangements.
