Alton Thomas Blakley

Alton Thomas Blakley 80 of New Washington, IN passed away at Norton Clark Hospital on Thursday, July 4, 2024.  He was born on March 10, 1944, in Jeffersonville, IN to Alton E. and Naomi Blakley.

Alton is survived by his siblings, Melvin Blakley of Memphis, IN, Patty Henderson of Nolan Lake, KY, and Judy Rager of Memphis, IN, and daughter, Jeanette Miller of Louisville, KY; stepchildren, Richard Fitzgerald of Marysville, IN, Michael Fitzgerald of Jeffersonville, IN, Lisa Kendrick of Jeffersonville, IN, Teresa Aguirre of Marysville, IN, Tammy Griffin of Jeffersonville, IN, Bobby Fitzgerald of Arizona, and Janet Greenleaf of New Washington, IN; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Alton was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Blakley.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.  There will be no funeral service to follow, and Alton’s remains will be buried next to Ruth at a later date.
