Alta Helton Mcbride

Alta Helton McBride 98 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Thursday January 30, 2020 at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany, IN.

She was born on March 13, 1921 to German and Maudy Montgomery Helton in Bloomington, KY.  She was a retired cafeteria worker for Greater Clark County Schools and a housewife and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.

Alta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McBride; daughters, Barbara McBride, Brenda McBride and Elizabeth McBride; sons, Robert Gary McBride, Terry McBride and John McBride; brothers Virgil and Ed; Sisters Josie, Martha, and Gertrude.

Alta is survived by her children, Susie Nash and Bobby McBride (Ann) both of Charlestown; sisters, Mary Howard of Ohio, Ruth Estep of New Albany, IN and Donna Freeman of Arkansas; brother, Fred Helton of Clarksville, IN ; grandchildren, Michael and Kate McBride, Kasey Thomas (Charles), Presley (Todd) and Shelby Nash; great grandchildren, Grace, Sarah, Caleb, Kyrie and Deegan.

Life Celebration services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday February 3, 2020 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN.  Visitation will be after 11:00 am on Monday.
