Allus Franklin, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at his home.
He was born on April 8, 1922 to Jess and Roxie Mae Haycraft Franklin in Kentucky. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a truck driver for INAAP. He was a member of the VFW Post 1427, American Legion Post 335, National Rifle Association, and a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church. He was also an avid coon hunter. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Clara Franklin.
Survivors include his son; Allus E. Franklin of Marysville, IN; daughters; Shirley Baker of New Washington, IN, Sharon Murphy of New Albany, IN; Jo Hall (Rocky) of Trafalgar, IN; brothers; Danny Franklin of Scottsburg, IN, Lewis Franklin of Logansport, IN, and Cletus Franklin of Scottsburg, IN; sisters; Marie Dimmitt of Clarksville, IN, Delores Gray of Rushville, IN, Edwina Lawson of Anderson, IN, and Joyce Franklin of Jeffersonville, IN; Grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington, with burial in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2pm to 8pm and after 9am on Saturday.
