Allen Brooks Darrah

Allen Brooks Darrah, 90, of Charlestown, IN passed away on November 23, 2019 at Campbell’s Private Care Home in New Washington.  He was born on May 23, 1929 in Clark Co. Indiana to Brooks Mount and Eleanor Kemp Darrah.  Allen is a retired load dispatcher for LG&E, an army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlestown.

Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Cartright Darrah.

Allen is survived by his son Dwaine Darrah (Jackie) of Virginia; daughters Diana Burns (Jim) of Plymouth, IN and Laura (John) Waters of Charlestown; sisters:   Anna Lee Bell of Madison, IN, Nora Mae McClain of Scottsburg, IN, and Clara Newland of Charlestown; grandchildren: Jeff, Jessi, Amy, Lindsay, Monica, Hannah, and Joshua; and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday November 27, 2019 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Charlestown with burial to follow in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday November 26 from 4-8 pm at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, and again on Wednesday beginning at 9am at the Church.
