A. Dean Moore

A. Dean Moore, Jr., of Charlestown, IN passed away peacefully at Norton’s Hosparus unit in Louisville, KY on February 27, 2018 with his daughter at his side.

Dean was born in Clark County, IN on March 21, 1929 to the late Julia and Argus Dean Moore, Sr.  Dean graduated from New Washington High School and was a Navy Veteran of World War II.  His work on bridges and projects as a civil engineer allowed he and his wife to travel to many states over the years.  Dean was a proud member of the New Washington Masonic Lodge # 167 for 51 years and Trinity United Presbyterian Church in New Washington.

Dean enjoyed all things outdoors from gardening to fishing and hunting.  One of Dean’s greatest joys was sharing his bounty with friends and family.  His philosophy in life was to “work hard and play hard”.  Dean was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years Joyce Moore, daughter, Becky Rivers, 5 brothers and 1 sister.

Dean is survived by his daughter, Deanna McDaniel (Gerald) of Branson, MO; son-in-law, Mike Rivers of Charlestown; son, Bill Moore (Sally) of Charlestown; grandchildren, Treva Burgin (Bryan) of Nabb, IN, Wyatt Rivers (Kelly) of Charlestown and Cody Moore of Charlestown

Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday March 2, 2018 at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with burial in Owen Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 pm to 8 pm on Thursday and after 9 am on Friday.

Masonic services will be held at 7 pm on Thursday.
