Ruth Crase Meador, 85, of Otisco, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on August 17, 2021.
Ruth was born February 14, 1936, in Kings Creek, Kentucky to John Benton and Louana Day Crase. She was one of 11 children.
Ruth graduated from Charlestown High School in 1954. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Blazing Bright Chapter #597 OES.
She married Clifton D. Meador on August 10, 1957, and they raised three Children in Charlestown and Otisco, Indiana
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dauphus Crase and Carl Crase; sisters, Lola Whitaker, and Lena Compton. Survivors include her husband, her children, David Meador (Cindy), Cheryl Green (Gary) and Clarissa Keith (Ronnie); five grandchildren, Candace Slay (Tom), Brandon Keith (Jenna), Craig Meador (Michelle), Gabhriel Wakefield, and Rebakah Keith; 10 great-grandchildren, Audrey Slay, Kayleigh Wakefield, Elliana Keith, Beckett Wakefield, Clay Meador, Andrew Keith, Ava Meador, Cooper Slay, and Slay twins due January 2022. Her brothers, Willard Crase (Irene), Arvil Crase (Violet) and Charles Crase (Alice); sisters, Willa St. John, Louama Kelly (Ken) and Francine Baker (Kenny); sister-in-law, Viola Crase. Many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Amedysis Hospice for their care and compassion during this time.
Life celebration services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday after 10:00 A.M.
