John Calvin May, Sr., 77, of Charlestown, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at River Crossing Assisted Living.
He was born on December 14, 1937 to James R. and Mary Alice (Searcy) May in Clark Co., IN. He was a retired meat cutter for Fischer Packing in Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sons, Clinton May, and Charlie May.
Survivors include his sons, Daniel May of Valley Station, KY, Kevin May of Marysville, IN, Ronald May of Charlestown, IN, John May, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, and James May of Indianapolis, IN; daughters, Rhonda Kern of Otisco, IN, Kennea May of Scottsburg, IN, and Shetila May of New Albany, IN; sisters, Eve DeVary of Sellersburg, IN, and Pat Curtsinger of Sellersburg, IN; 20
grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Owen Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 10am on Saturday.
