Gerald Eugene Stewart, 98 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at his home.
Mr. Stewart was born on January 10, 1919 in Austin, IN the son of James Frank and Minnie Medscar Stewart. He owned and operated Stewart’s Gas Station in Charlestown on Highway 62 for over 22 years and was a Navy Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his sons, Douglas R. Stewart of Idaho City, ID, Gary W. Stewart of San Antonio, TX and Marvin E. Stewart of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Joyce Meech of Louisville, KY, Connie Muir of Charlestown, IN, Anita L. Callada of Salt Lake City, UT and Donna Eve of Scottsburg, IN; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Marie Stewart in 2013 and a son James Randle Stewart.
Private graveside services will be held at Charlestown Cemetery with burial to follow. Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown is in charge of arrangements.
