Edwin T. Shain, 76, of Charlestown, IN passed away on Sunday May 22, 2016 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Eddie was born in Russiaville, IN on May 8, 1940 to Russell and Helen Green Shain who precede him in death. He is a 49 year member of the Charlestown Volunteer Fire Department, 1959 graduate of Charlestown High School, and a retired forklift mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Mary “Tomie” Perry Shain; daughter, Terri O’Leary (Bob) of Charlestown; sons, James D. Armstrong Jr. (Brenda) of Perrysburg, OH, David “Boney”Armstrong (Lynn) of Charlestown; sisters, Joetta Shain of Charlestown, Mary Clark of Bardstown, KY; grandchildren, James D. Armstrong III (Donna), Brian Armstrong (Lisa), Jessica Fugate (Dominic), Bruce Armstrong, Tyler Morris, Craig O’Leary (Jennifer), Bradlee O’Leary (Tiffany), and eight great grandchildren and one on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday May 26, 2016 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 am to 8 pm on Wednesday and after 9 am on Thursday.
Expressions of sympathy may go to the Crusade for Children.
