Betty Ivers of New Washington, Indiana passed away peacefully at the Uof L Stroke center Monday, July 21, 2014, where she had been since suffering a stroke on July 4.
She was born March 1, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of New Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Fay Giltner Stout. She leaves behind three children Donna Hostetler, Roy and Jenny Ivers, and Bette Harbin, and grandchildren, Jeff Hostetler, Ivy Ivers, Abby Ivers, Jessi Leuthart, Bradi Harbin Zacharias, Bobbi Harbin, and Jenna Harbin, and five great grandchildren.
She was an avid sports fan and loved to watch Cubs baseball .
At the request of the deceased there will be no funeral but a family graveside service will be held at a later date. She lived quietly and privately and wished to exit this world the same way. Grayson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Many thanks to the wonderful nurses and caregivers at the UofL Hospital Stroke Center, and especially to Jim and Linda Weston for the excellent personal care she received for the past few years.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent as donations in her name to the Christian Church, PO Box 72, New Washington, IN 47162.
