Bernice P. (Phumphrey) Stewart

Bernice P. Stewart, 82 died Sunday October 6, 2013 at Scott Villa Nursing Home in Scottsburg, IN.
She was born on September 8, 1931 in West Point, MS to Ernest and Ruby Whitt Phumphrey.  Bernice had worked as a seamstress in the clothing and alterations industry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter; Beverly Clara Lovvoran, sisters; Joyce Phumphrey, Margaret Barkemier and Harlene Phumphrey.
She is survived by her husband; Arthur Stewart, son; James Lovvoran of Charlestown, IN, daughters; Dorothy Stokes of Blue Mountain, MS, Linda Collums of Pontotoc, MS and JoAnn Vige of Lake Charles, LA, brother; Ernest Phumphrey of Elizabeth, IN, sisters; Glenda Black and Bonnie Davis both of New Albany, IN and 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday October 10, 2013 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, IN with burial in Ebeneezer Cemetery near Henryville, IN.  Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9 a.m. on Thursday.
