Wayne Densmore Collins

Wayne D. Collins, 92 of passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.

Mr. Collins was born on December 29, 1926 in Arcadia, KS the son of Wayne and Maggie Williams Smith. He retired from ICI Americas in Charlestown from the Maintenance Department as a carpenter. Wayne was a United States Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He enjoyed many things in life including: woodworking, hunting and fishing when he was younger, an avid Colts and Oklahoma Sooners fan.

Survivors include his sons, Danny L. Collins and his wife Brenda of Charlestown, IN and Wm. Michael Collins of Clarksville, IN; sisters, Lavonne Breazeale of Lockeford, CA and Jean Mahurin of Sand Springs, OK; brother, Robert Smith of Atwater, CA;  grandchildren including Amanda Langley, Charles Wayne Crick , Christy Coover and Tammy Heil; great- grandchildren including, Savannah, Raymond, Rachel, Selena, Brittany, Tina, Tamera, Brian, Joshua, Austin, Cheyenne, Cory, Austin, Katelynn, D.J., Chasity, Cassity, Nick, Brandon and Tanner; and great-great grandchildren Payton, Tatum, Adilyn, Braxton and Kyra. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lottie Faye Collins in 2014; daughter Rita Faye Crick in 2018; son, Steven Otis Collins in 2019; sisters, Mae Johnson and Naomi Smith; brothers, Myrle and Harold Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington.  Burial will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday.
