Sam was my gpaw! Only grandparent growing up that would make it a habit to come scoop me up on Saturday afternoons and take me to go mushroom and ginseng hunting, always made me feel very special as a kid, he was always, every week, at least once a week sometimes couple times a week, coming by our home in Sellersburg, stopping in to see me and was extremely close to my dad mike. He was extremely important to me, my dad, and rest of our extended family! Always visited his children and grandchildren, and always, i mean Always had a big grin, and a funny sayin to light up a heavenly warm welcoming! He was liked by everyone , all n all people he came across, well not liked, loved by so many he met across his journey in life! I miss him more than ever, and I know he's smiling , laughing, and story telling with my pops , looking over me and all us in te family to be our greatest guardians in this present living, chaotic n crazy world we live in today, to keep us all on the right track! I miss you papaw! There ain't a day goes by, I don't think and remember the amazing and very special times we had growing up! I love you and miss you tons! Love your grandson Nolan Harper! Rest Easy with that amazing beautiful grin that lit up my and all ours world!!!! Love ya papaw! Truly one of a kind type of soul, I know so soooooo many miss you! Until we meet again, I know you ll be there to welcome me with dad, and it gives me hope to a long full life of a great life I know I'll have all because the special ones like you that made me who I am today! Man I miss ya, if I could just listen to one more funny story, I'd trade almost anything for that and that golden aura you kept, love Always, nolan!!!!

Sam was a great guy! We met him at McDonald's in Sellersburg some years ago at our coffee & world problem solving group. He would come & visit with us all. We loved his stories about the mules or hunting with his cross eyed girlfriend! When he'd get ready to leave he often said he had to go home & grease Joan's lips so it looked like he fed her! He called my grandson Everett" Sparkplug" he took a liken to him. He will be missed but we'll always remember him thru his stories & the kind person he was. He is with Joan now & he's at peace.❤️ Love Steve& Rhonda Harris & Family

All my love and sympathy to my family for the loss of my Uncle Claude. He was very special to me. I will hold you all in my prayers. His gift to me was love, patience and sharing family history with my genealogy efforts. He helped me through my grieving at the passing of my Mom (his older sister, Mary); and for those acts of kindness and caring, I will always remember him and kept him close to thought, heart and prayers. God bless all his children, sisters, brother, cousins and Joann. Much love. Your niece, Cheryl, Bruce and Gina Marie ~ Memphis, TN
