Ollie L. (Bruner) Phillips

Ollie L. Phillips, 93 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Phillips was born on March 10, 1924 in Spencer County, KY the daughter of Roy Edgar and Cleo Nation Bruner. Ollie was a homemaker a member of the Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Charlestown and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and great-great-great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandra DeVary of Charlestown, Patsy Bricker(Jeffrey) of Frankfort, IN, Judy Steves(Mike) of Charlestown and Kimberly Ann Wilcoxson(Jimmie) of Salem, IN; son, Terry Phillips(Judy) of Marysville, IN; sisters, Edith Bolin, Earline Masingo, Virgie Bolin and Rita Mitchell all of Charlestown; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild; also several nieces and nephews. Ollie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William S. Phillips; son, Roy Phillips; sister’s, Mae Arnold, Frances Mosby, Mary Christie, Margaret Bruner and Ida Joyce Bruner; brothers, William and Roy Bruner; grandson, Terry Phillips; granddaughter, Suzanne Long; great-grandchildren, Quinton Bricker and Keadon Huffer.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Charlestown with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, IN and after 9:00 A.M. Friday at the Church. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Phillips may take the form of donations to Unity Missionary Baptist Church.
