Glenn Ray Cole passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019, surrounded by his beloved family, after a long bout with cancer.

Born in Scottsburg, Indiana, on October 8, 1940, Glenn was the son of Herman and Jenny Esther (Finn) Cole, Sr., who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Herman “Dewey,” Jr., and one sister, Betty Cole Clegg.

In October,1960, Glenn married the love of his life, Betty Lou Wilson of Charlestown, Indiana, who survives. They had three children who survive- Reid (Sheila) Cole of Marysville, Indiana, Kevin (Missy) Cole of Lexington, Indiana, and Raye Ann (Adam Dixon) Cole of Marysville. They have three grandchildren - Tanner and Tatum Cole of Marysville, and Caleb Cole of Lexington. They also have one great grandchild - Tucker Cole of Lexington. He is also survived by one sister, Clara Jean Cole Sanders (Jerry), of Jeffersonville, Indiana. They also have several nieces and nephews.

Glenn was a 1958 graduate of New Washington High School. He retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1996, after 31 years of service. He coached little league baseball and youth basketball in Scott County. He played on multiple softball leagues. He was also a farmer and avid houndsman, especially with his beagles.

He was a lifetime member of Silver Creek Beagle Club where he served as President for over 30 years. He helped form the OKI Association which later became the Heartland Federation. He also started the Mid America Brace Gundog Federation and served as an officer and board of director for several years. He served on the Beagle Advisory Committee for the American Kennel Club. He finished several field champions and won federation championships with hounds he owned, bred, and trained. In 2004 he was inducted into the SPO Hall of Fame. He passed his love of beagling on to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchild.

Per his request, cremation was chosen.  A Life Celebration/Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm at Silver Creek Beagle Club, 2520 Beagle club Road, Underwood, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to the United Beagle Gundog Federation Junior Handlers in care of Jamie Carson, 605 Beach Road, Kirksey, KY 42054.
