Alfred N. Bentley, 88 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at his Home.
Alfred was born November 27, 1930 in Whitesburg, KY the son of Jesse and Lillian Holbrook Bentley. He retired from the Waterford, MI General Motors Plant after 32 years of service. Alfred served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was gifted mechanically working on small engines, tinkering, rebuilt a car when he was a teenager, duct tape is an absolute necessity and even figured out how to refill a throw away Bic lighter.
He leaves behind his children, Gilbert Bentley and his wife Carolyn of Whitesburg, KY, Dan Bentley and his wife Rene of Davisburg. MI, Lori Love and her husband Butch of Charlestown, IN and Kathy Pack and her husband Milton of Waterford, MI; step- daughter, Stacey Bostock of Paoli, IN; sisters Jewel Caudill, Lavanelle Frazier and Janice Collier all of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Kristi, Courtnie, Kerrie, Jessica, Brandon and Bradley; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Ruby, Kayla and Bryce. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Claudette Shepherd Bentley in 2000, second wife Sharon Nale Bentley in 2014 and his young sister, Audra Bentley.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday at 1:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 12 noon Saturday until the time of services.
