Lana Kay (Cannon) Umbarger

Lana Kay Umbarger, 74, of Henryville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. 

Lana was a member of the Sunnyside Assembly of God in Jeffersonville. She proudly served as an Assistant United States Marshall and a Corrections Officer at the Clark County Sheriff’s
Department. Lana loved her fur babies, Sidney and Ziva, who we know met her at Heaven’s door. Zeke, her most recent fur baby, is feeling lost without her. Lana loved spreading her love
of Christ with her family and friends. While working at the jail, Lana was able to witness to those who needed to hear that they were loved and valued by a Savior. As a result, Lana
was known as “Momma.”

Lana’s greatest joy was spending time with her son, Damon. Whether it was kayaking down Little Blue River or watching a movie together, time spent with family was priceless. It was a family tradition that Lana brought her chicken and dumplings to all family gatherings. In her free time, Lana enjoyed going to the gun range to practice her shooting skills.

Lana was born on November 17, 1949, in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Ernest and Mary(Morris)Cannon. In addition to her parents, Lana was preceded in death by her brother
Robert Cannon, Sr., nephews, James Cannon and Robby Cannon, Jr.  

Lana is survived by her longtime companion, Robert Miller, son, Damon McCubbins, sister, Lita Howard, brother Ernest Cannon (Bobbi), sister-in-law, Lynda Cannon, nieces, Tina, Charity,
Treasure, nephews, Scott, Todd, Matthew, and Tim along with many loved cousins.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, Indiana. Her Life Celebration Service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lana’s name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
