Rita Ann Wright, age 63, of Charlestown passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at her home.
She was born November 10, 1948 in New Haven, KY the daughter of Joseph and Lucy Griffith Greenwell.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Wright; daughters, Melissa Cruz, Clarksville, Jacquelyn Brock, Charlestown, Angela Lazaro, New Albany, Tracy Montgomery, Pekin, Tammy Blythe and Tanya Wright both of Paoli; sons, Joseph A. Taylor and Joshua M. Wright both of Clarksville; sisters, Edith S. King and Loretta M. Hall, Charlestown; brothers, Joseph Eugene Greenwell, Seattle, WA, James M. Greenwell, Nabb, Daniel B. Greenwell, Brandenburg, KY, Gregory J. Greenwell, Martinsburg, IN and Robert G. Greenwell, Sellersburg; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.

Words cannot describe the shock and saddness of Aunt Rita''''s passing. She meant so much to me and so many other people. She always had a way of making you laugh. She was so much like Granny in alot of ways, especially when it came to children. I loved her dearly and I will miss her greatly.

Its with great sadness & heartfelt sympathies to our families with the loss of our Aunt Rita ! Our hearts go out to our family and wish we could be there!! Uncle Lou , you have a great loss in such a wonderful lady who we know loved you will all her heart !and with wonderful children and grand babies whom will miss their mom & grandmom , Danny & I will miss her and cry tears and are broken hearted with our loss with a special Auntie ! I''m so sorry for your loss. I''m sure you all will miss her greatly. She was always kind and welcoming to me. I was her and Millie at Zesto''s last summer and it was so good to see her and talk to her then. I''m so sorry I couldn''t make it to the funeral home. Again, so sorry, Sonya

Rita was very generous with her heart and home to me when I was a young woman, and I remember her fondly. She was so kind hearted and fun! My condolences to you all.
