Mike was born in 1953 in San Diego, California to Dalton (Faye) Ellis and Stella LaRue Stroud. He had a sister; Rose (Gary) Warren. He has three step-brothers: Frank (Karen) McLaughlan, Jim D’Amico and Vince (Troi) D’Amico.
Mike was raised in and in 1971 graduated High School in Lake Isabella, CA. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. After the war was over Mike settled in Visalia, CA where his grandparents, C.C. and Exlee Ellis, Aunt Dorothy (John) Libla, and Cousins Debbie (David) Rockwell, Steve (Erica) Williams, Jimmie Libla all lived. There in 1984 he met and in 1987 married Pamela Lockard. Together they raised a son Gabe (Christie) Henderson and a daughter Jennifer Ellis.
In 2005, the family moved to Indiana, Mike was happiest fishing in his pond with his grandchildren Hunter, Tyler, and Noah Henderson, Eden Ellis and Wyatt Isam.
Mike was an outdoors man, always working on the farm or on his “57 Ford truck, painting motorcycles, and cars. His specialty was drawing and painting flames. Mike loved to ride his 1985 Harley around with friends.
Mike worked for I.K.T. as a dump truck driver. He loved his truck.
Mike was a good friend to all that came in contact with him. A good soul and he will be missed so very much.
A Celebration of Mike’s life is planned for October 19, 2013 at 3:00 pm on his farm.
