Carl Lavon Dean, 96 of Nabb, IN passed away on Monday March 19, 2018 at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, IN.
He was born on October 27, 1921 in Jefferson County, IN to Cyrus and Edith Harrell Dean. He was a retired maintenance man at the United States Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, IN, a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the New Hope Community Church, a member of the Redman’s Lodge in Scottsburg, IN, and Honorary Kentucky Colonel and a charter member of the Nabb Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Bladen Dean; daughter, Freda Perkinson; granddaughter, Kelley Davis; siblings, Basil Dean, Wallace Dean, Sceneth Stoner, Avis Anderson, Velma Ryder, Audrey Cole.
Survivors include his daughter, Judy Palmer (Tom) of Lexington, IN; sons, Roger Dean (Cheryl) of Versailles, IN and Doug Dean (Michelle) of Madison, IN; grandchildren, Clint Perkinson, Brianne Lott, Cami Heath, Daniel Dean, Jordan Dean, Sarah Dean and Regin Dean; 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 31, 2018 at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with burial in Antiock Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 pm to 8 pm on Friday and after 10 am on Saturday.
